After months of COVID disruptions, The Welded Voices recording project supported by funding from City of Parramatta's Creative Economy Grant, has finally hit the recording studio of RCV's project collaborator, Information + Cultural Exchange. RCV choristers really pulled out all stops navigating outdoor, split indoors, online and COVID cancelled rehearsals, to keep perfecting the fabulous new choral arrangements of Club Weld musicians: Sienna Acquaro (S&S), Clare Brown (What the World Needs), Nina Gotsis (Frozen River), Charbel Nehme (Dear Mum), Jerrah Patston (Rain is Falling) and Jonathan Yung (Everglade).
Huge thanks to Victoria Harbutt (Special Projects, I.C.E.) and Chris Hamer-Smith Sound Engineer extraordinaire, and a special shout out to Rob from R&R Recording Studios, Blacktown where we kick-started the recordings.
And while various choristers are recording with Sarah, the rest of the choir is back at Cloisters Hall under the baton of former RCV Assistant Conductor Philip Eames and Su Choung , RCV's fabulous repetiteur!
Can't wait to share the finished album with you in early 2022.
